Installing a Wiring Harness for Trailer Lighting on a 1996 Subaru Sidekick

Question:

How to find the trailor light hook up location on a 1996 suzuki sidekick js, 4 doors, automatic, 1.6, 2x4,? Or, do I have to tap into the existing tail light harness?

Expert Reply:

You will need to use a Circuit Protected Taillight Converter, part number 118175KIT, and hardwire it into the existing vehicle wiring. The procedure for installing the converter is pretty simple. Simply access the wiring behind the taillight assemblies, and using the included circuit tester, locate the correct circuits to tap into. We have an online video that shows how to complete this installation. I will include a link to the video and the necessary parts. The link can be found below.
