Question:
Installed a complete new light kit. Everything seems to work great, but the right blinker/brake light is on even when it should only be the tail light. It does not blink with the blinker activated. The left side does. With the 4-wire connector unplugged from the vehicle, I have continuity between all four pins, does that make any sense? I guess they could all be shorted to ground. Any suggestions? The tow vehicle does not have power to the green wire when only the tail lights are on and it is not plugged into the trailer. Thank You!

Expert Reply:
The pin on your trailer connector for the right turn signal and brake light that relates to the green wire should not carry any signal with the running lights turned on. The running lights are on the circuit carried by the brown wire. I would recommend checking to make sure that the right turn signal and brake light circuit is wired to the correct pin on the connector, if it is not, it would explain the problem you are experiencing.
