Propane Tanks Interfering with Weight Distribution System Take Up Brackets

Question:

Hi, my name is Josh. I have a 2004 31 Flagstaff by Forest River. I baught a Curt Manufacturing Trunnion style Weight Distribution hitch from the guy who I purchased this camper from, although he had never installed the hitch on the truck or the trailer. I have a 01 Dodge 2500 that I am planning on pulling it with. I purchased a new shank for my truck because it sat too high, and put the original head on the new shank. I hooked the truck to the camper and put the spring bars in place, and I looked at the spring bars, and they seemed to be to long. Where they came to the frame of the camper is right where the propane tanks are, therefore I have no place to mount the brackets on the trailer above the spring bars. Do they make shorter spring bars??? And if so, do you have them to fit my Curt Manufacturing shank head??? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

Expert Reply:

We offer a Bolt On Weight Distribution Chain Hanger Kit, part number 58305. This would allow you to locate the bracket where you need it, and because it would bolt to the side of the trailer tongue, it would not interfere with your propane bottles. I will include a link to the Hanger Kit, which can be found below.
