Best location to install fifth wheel on long bed pick-up

Question:

i have a long bed pick-up and just bought a fifth wheel rv trailer. where would the optimium location be, to install the hitch in the bed of the truck? over the axels? or just in front or behind the axels? thank you, gw

The best installation point will depend on the year, make, and model of the truck. Generally speaking, installing the fifth wheel hitch so that the trailer king pin falls directly over or slightly forward of the rear axle center point is ideal.
