Transferring a Trailer Brake Control from 2000 GMC Sierra to a 2006 GMC Sierra

Question:

took out of 2000 gmc worked fine plugged in to 2006 and the light comes on when you manualy work it but not when you push on the peddal

The 2000 GMC Sierra uses a different wiring adapter than the 2006 model. When plugged in using the old adapter, the pins will not match up with the correct circuits. We offer the correct wiring adapter for your Sierra, part number 20264. Once you get the correct adapter, your brake controller should work correctly.
