Question:
Hi!! I just have a quick question... I have a Journey HD brake controller installed on my 2002 dodge pickup. The other night I realized that my rear brake light seems to be flashing at the oddest of times... when my truck is off, in the middle of the night, ect. Today, I went to go look at it, and on the brake controller the code is C5, which is continually flashing... what does that mean? Thank you for the help!!! -James

The CS error code on your Journey HD Brake Controller indicates a Charging System Error - There may be a charging system problem or an inadequate connection to the tow vehicle’s battery. The unit will reset once the situation is corrected. Check the connection between the controller and the wiring adapter, and the connection between the adapter and the brake controller port under the dash. Make sure everything is tightly connected. Check the fuse in the block under the hood that powers the brake controller, making sure that it is good, and is firmly connected.
