Pro-Series SC Weight Distribution for a Airstream Trailer Being Towed by a Chevy Silverado

Question:

Would the Pro-Series SC shown here work well with an 8500 lb Airstream towed by a Chevy Silverado 2500 with the big diesel engine? Im new to this, and this hitch looks like its simpler than the chain arrangement to use. Is it heavy-duty enough to handle that heavy a trailer?

Expert Reply:

The Pro-Series SC would work well with your trailer, if you are experiencing little to moderate trailer sway. For maximum sway control, you'd want to use the Strait-Line Weight Distribution Hitch System, rated for trailer whose tongue weights range from 600-1200 lbs. This system includes the Dual Cam Sway Control System, which will stop trailer sway before it can occur. Once dialed in for your trailer, this system is just as easy to use as the Pro Series SC.
