Wiring a 2000 Chevy Blazer to Serve as Reverse Lights or an Extra Auxiliary Lead

Question:

I am wiring a 7 pin up to my 2000 blazer. The purple back up light is what i am referencing too, all other wires i know where to run. Do i just need to tie in to my backup light system or should this be an additional power wire running to the battery. I was told that my camper will charge off of my battery if it is wired properly. Is that what they are referring too? or can you help.

Expert Reply:

This wire can be used for either the Reverse Lights or for an extra Auxiliary Lead to the trailer. If you need the reverse lights, the hot lead (black wire to battery) will serve as your camper's power supply.
