Recharging an Auxiliary Battery

How does the auxillary battery on the trailer recharge with the TAP braking system?

The breakaway kit comes with a charging device that draws its power from the running light circuit or a 12 volt lead . It works like a trickle charger and adds just enough current when the voltage falls to a certain level in the battery.
