Question:
Id like to install this on a 2008 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crewmax with the factory installed tow package. Ive reviewed the instructions and it appears to be a simple hookup, simply connect the factory supplied wire harness to the unit, and plug into the factory preout trailer brake wire harness. Is this correct? Any special installation requirements for my vehicle?

Expert Reply:
If your 2008 Toyota Tundra has the factory 7-way connector in the back, then you should be able to plug in a brake controller adapter under the dash of the Tundra. Does the connector provided by the manufacturer look like the Universal Brake Control Wiring Adapter, part # 20265. If so, then you will just need to connect the wires coming out of the back of the Draw-Tite Activator I, part # 5100, to the proper wires on your factory supplied harness, and plug in the adapter.
