Will Ratings Change if Weight Distribution Shank 3214 is Used in the Up or Down Position

Does it reduce weight ratings if i have to turn the long end up or gusset end.

Expert Reply:

No. The ratings and capacities do not change in the up or down position. The only things that change are a few measurements when using round or trunnion weight distribution systems. For round bars, it measures 16-1/2 inches from hitch pin hole center to ball hole center. For Trunnion bars that measurement is 15-7/8 inches.

For round bars, there is a 2-3/8 inch drop or 5-5/8 inch rise. For trunnion bars, there is a 1-5/8 inch drop and 6-3/8 inch rise.
