Can the SportRack 4 Bike Rack, Part # A30902 Be Used on the Back of a Trailer

Question:

Can this bike rack be used behind a travel trailer?

asked by: Eric V

Expert Reply:

The SportRack 4 Bike Hitch Mounted Rack, part # A30902LR is not recommended for use on a towed vehicle. A bike rack mounted on a trailer is subject to greater shaking force than if it were mounted directly to a vehicle. For four bicycles, I would recommend the Swagman XP, part # S64960. This rack is specifically designed for use on the rear of a trailer, and has been engineered to withstand the additional shaking and jarring that would be experienced.

Using the SportRack unit on the rear of your trailer could result in damage to the trailer frame, the hitch or the rack itself. This could possibly result in the loss of the rack or the bikes.
