Brake Controller Installation: Starting from Scratch

I have a 2007 highlander that has tow prep pakg. what do i need on my vich to tow a Trailer that has elect. brakes the trailer has a 7 way connector im told i also need a type of brake box in the vich. Thanks

To equip your 2007 Toyota Highlander to tow with electric brakes, you would first need to install a 4-way plug. The 4-way plug for Highlander models equipped with a factory tow package would be wiring harness # 118248.

You will also need to install a brake controller. I recommend the Prodigy brake controller # 90185, as it includes a wire pigtail that you will use to hard wire the brake controller to the vehicle.

To install the 7-way plug on your Highlander, I recommend brake controller installation kit # ETBC7, as it includes the 4 to 7-way adapter, as well as the circuit breakers, additional wiring, and other connectors needed to complete the brake controller installation.
