How Does the Anti-Tilt Device on Rage PowerSport Motorcycle Carrier Part AMC400

Question:

Im worried that the anti tilt device on this unit will Scratch my Car.. Im planning on Using this on a 2006 Dodge magnum SRT8. and dont want to Scratch the rear Bumper. what is the purpose of that part and how is it intended to work? it looks to me Like its supposed to rest against the vehicle to keep it from Tilting.

Expert Reply:

The Anti-Tilt device is tightened against the hitch tube, not the vehicle bumper. It pushes against the hitch to hold the carrier steady. I have included a link to a video of a demo and review of the 2 bike version of this carrier. We show how the Anti-Tilt Device attaches.

Depending on your bumper shape, it may prevent the device from sliding all the way back to the hitch. The device is not meant to touch or use the bumper.

Please note that the tongue weight capacity for all the hitches we have available for your Magnum is 350 pounds. This means that the combined weight of the carrier and the bike cannot weigh more than 350 pounds. The carrier weighs about 40 pounds meaning your bike cannot weigh more than 310 pounds.

Rage has designed these carriers to work with hitches with at least a 500 pound tongue weight rating, no less.
