Question:
Would like to move the brake controller from a 2006 Toyota tacoma to a 2010 tacoma. The 2010 truck came with a pigtail and connector under dash to tie into the wiring of the truck for brake controller. I am looking for a wiring diagram so I can make the proper connections. Can you help me?

Expert Reply:
For your 2010 Toyota Tacoma, you can use the Tow Ready brake controller harness, part # 20265. Just color match the wires from the harness to the loose wires on your brake controller. White is the ground, blue is brake output, black is 12-volt hot lead, and red is the stop light switch. You can solder them together or use butt connectors. The plug is located underneath the dashboard, to the left of the steering column taped to another wiring harness near the emergency brake pedal. I have included a link to the installation details for reference.
