Yes, would be able to use the same brake controller in your 2006 Kia Sorento. You will need to hardwire the controller to the Sorento and add a 4-Way and 7-Way connector at the back of the Sorento.

First you will need to install a 4-Way trailer connector. The T-One harness for your 2006 Kia Sorento is part # 118307. After you install the 4-Way, you will need to install a 7-Way trailer connector.

The 4-Way connects to a matching connector on the 7-Way, part # ETBC7. There are 4 loose wires on the ETBC7 and they need to be connected as follows: white should be connected to the frame, black should be ran to the batter with a 40amp breaker in-line. This will supply power to the trailer. Blue is run all the way up to the cabin and is connected to the blue wire on the brake controller. The purple wire can be used as reverse lights, or another power source depending on how the trailer is wired. It can be omitted and taped out of the way if not needed.

The brake controller will then have to be hard wired. The white wire is again a ground, the red goes to the stop light switch by the brake pedal. The black is ran to the battery with a 30amp breaker to provide power and the blue is run back to the blue wire on the 7-Way.
