Question:
Please let me know if rather than splicing the wires, you have the VW plugs like the dealership uses to connect the wiring harness. Please let me know if this is possible. I have a Draw Tite hitch and do not want to take the change on messing up my electrical system. Please contact me ASAP. Thank you for your help in this matter. Look forward to your reply.

At this time we do not have a custom wiring kit for the 2006 VW Touareg. You would need to hard wire your vehicle with the Upgraded Circuit Protected Modulite with 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit - Includes Testers, item # 119176KIT, which includes all of the wiring, connectors and a circuit tester to complete the installation.
The circuit protected Modulite will use a power wire from the vehicle battery to power the lights on the towed item. This protects the vehicles sensitive circuitry and only uses the taillight circuits for activating the signals. The Modulite has circuit protection built in and the power wire is protected with an inline fuse. Once the wiring is installed and properly grounded you will not have to worry about your vehicle wiring.
