Is the Ball on Draw-Tite 25K Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Offset

Question:

Hi, I have a few questions for you. Does the Draw-Tite 25K gooseneck hitch offset the ball or is the ball centered on the hitch ball platform? I want the ball to sit about 2-4 inches to the front of the rear axle of my truck. So, I am wondering if I will need to center the rails over the axle or have to offset the rails forward of the rear axle to achieve this desired offset. Will this hitch fit my Valley/Husky rails? My understanding is that most manufacturers will interchange with each others base rails. Last, what type/strength/size attaching pins are required to mount this hitch to the base rails? Thank you

The ball on the Draw-Tite 25K Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails, part # 6002, is centered front to back and side to side. Whether or not the ball sits centered over the axle will depend on the rails in your truck bed. It will fit Valley rails. In order to find out whether or not it will fit Husky rails, you will need to measure. The Tab measurements for the hitch are at the bottom of the product page.

The pins used to attach this hitch to the fifth wheel rails are the same same as the pins used to hold a fifth wheel hitch into the rails. The Draw-Tite 25K Gooseneck includes the 4 pins used to hold it into the fifth wheel rails.

We do have a similar gooseneck hitch from Pro Series, part # 49080, that has an offset built into it.
