Will SportRack Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock A30901LHP Fit a Yakima Double Down Bike Rack Y02424

Question:

Looking for a locking hitch pin that will fit the 1-1/4inch hitch for the Yakima douubledown 4 bike rack. Will the sport rack anti-rattle hitch part no. A30901LHP fit the receiver. I do not like the Yakima locking hitch. Thanks for your help.

We have a Yakima DoubleDown in our showroom, so I pulled the SportRack Anti-Rattle lock, part # A30901LHP and checked it for fit. It will fit the Yakima DoubleDown. The anti-rattle threads are the same.

Question:

This may be too much to ask but: After looking at your site. Would the(Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Bolt for 1-1/4 Softride Hitch Racks SR25056) fit the Yakima Double Down 4 Bike Rack and in your opinion does it appear to be a more secure lock than the Yakima hitchlock Y07235. Any assistance would be helpful

I grabbed the SoftRide lock part # SR25056, which will fit. I think it would be more secure than either the Yakima or the SportRack since the pin does not come all the way through. In fact because the lock goes over the pin, the only portion of the lock that is exposed is the hardened brass key cylinder.

That being said, it my not be as strong as far as weight load on the bike rack since the pin does not go all the way through both sides of the receiver and rack.
