with the stowmaster 5000 I have, can I use this adapter rm4000-1 to modify mine to be able to hook on the guardian shield? Thanks

As long as the StowMaster 5000 tow bar that you have has Quick Disconnects, Item # RM-201, then the Roadmaster Guardian Rock Guard, item # RM-4000 will work with your towbar. If you do not have the # RM-201 quick disconnects you will need them to adapt the Guardian Rock Guard to your tow bar setup.The Roadmaster Guardian 2nd Vehicle Kit, item # RM-4000-1, is designed to attach the guardian to a second vehicle with quick disconnects.
