What angle does the coupler allow the tongue to turn?

Expert Reply:

The couplers will swing 180 degrees. Depending on how long the tongue is and the shape of the trailer the coupler may hit the trailer frame before it opens up to 180 degrees. I installed one of these on a small boat trailer this summer. The tongue was 36 inches long so we cut it at 18 inches and installed the Fulton Fold-Way. It doubled back on itself when folded out and we gained 18 inches of garage space.
