Question:

I am looking for a way to attach a hitch-mount bike carrier to the back of my popup trailer. The versitility of this product seems like it may lend itself to this application. The popup trailer has a c-channel frame 3 x 1.5 and bumper. The side-arms that attach the bumper to the rest of the frame is 50 apart. Any thoughts or concerns?

The hitch would fit and successfully bolt or weld to your pop up trailer (welding should be done by a qualified professional). However, you will want to check the trailer owners manual or the manufacturer to determine if a hitch can be mounted to it for a bike rack. Only certain bike racks are rated for use behind a trailer and I have linked them for you.

If you find you can use the hitch, I have included a link to the installation details for you. CURT does require the use of stabilization strap # 18050, when using the hitch with a bike rack. The strap is designed to relieve some of the stress on the hitch.

If you cannot use a hitch, I would recommend a roof mount rack for your trailer, like the Pop Up Camper Roof Mount 4 Bike Rack, part # S80550. If your pop up trailer has a 4 inch square continuously welded steel bumper, you could also use the Swagman 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack, part # S80600 or the RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack, part # S80605, but again you would check with the trailer manufacturer or owners manual to make sure it is rated for this application.
