Question:

I am interested in a transmission and engine oil cooler for my 2003 Toyota 4runner. I found this one D15902 and was wondering If It will fit in the front of my A/C condenser. It seems like it will from the measurements but want to be absolutley sure before purchase. I was also wondering how It connects to the engine to cool that oil. I am setting this 4runner up to tow a 24 camper that weighs 3200 lbs UVW. 300 lb TW. I did research your WD hitches with SC and found your site to be VERY informative about that. I dont care for the friction controlled sway bars at all. I do have more questions before purchaseing, but they will wait until I hear from you about the cooler.

Fitting the transmission and oil cooler, item # D15902, on your 2003 Toyota 4runner is a matter of measuring. If you have the space in front of your AC Condenser then you will be able to mount the cooler. You will also need to make sure that there is room for the oil filter to be spaced out 2 inches away from the bottom of where it is now located. The bottom of the filter will be 2 inches farther down or out from the engine block.

Once the Oil filter adapter and the cooler are mounted then the rest of the installation is just a matter of routing the hoses inline with the the cooler. The oil adapter routes the oil from the adapter through the cooling system and back to the engine. You should not require significantly more oil with this system. I spoke with my contact at Derale and he confirmed that the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler with Multiple Threads, item # D15902, is the correct fit for your vehicle and that you just need to make sure that there is space to mount the cooler and filter adapter.

As far as sway control goes the dual cam sway control is the best sway control system available and works to keep sway from happening rather than trying to stop sway once it has begun. I would recommend the Reese Strait-Line Hitch 600 lbs TW / 12,000 lbs GTW, item # RP66072, for the trailer you mentioned.
