Where can I get the wireing for this product or is there something else more suitable for my 1968 1/2 ton Chevy?

You will need to hard-wire your 1968 Chevrolet truck to install the Tekonsha PRODIGY Brake Controller, item # 90185. This is a popular brake controller and gets very high ratings from our customers.

We have instructions (see link) for installation of brake controllers and you will need a 7-Way Installation Kit, ETBC7 or a 6-Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC6, which includes the wiring, circuit breakers, connectors, and vehicle side connector with mounting bracket.

If you do not have a working 4-Way connector at the rear of your vehicle I would cut the 4-way off of the 7 and 4-Way connector and hard wire it behind the vehicles taillights, rather than installing a 4 way connector on the vehicle and plugging it into the connector. You can use an appropriate length of Bonded 3 Wire, item # 16-3B-1. Remember to get enough wire so you can attach the wires to both sides of the vehicle. Six feet should be plenty.
