Question:
I have a gooseneck trailer and just bought a truck with a 5th wheel plate/hitch. Which way would you go, convert the trailer to a 5th wheel? Do I just weld a 5th wheel kingpin, over the gooseneck ? Or would you install a gooseneck hitch in the truck? Basically, which mode is better?

I would use a Gooseneck hitch that installs in the rails that the fifth-wheel sets in. We have several models and they all fit in the standard fifth-wheel rails.

If you do not want to remove the fifth-wheel hitch to hook up to the gooseneck trailer I would recommend using the Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Trailer Adapter, item # 2085205, which will install on the gooseneck trailer without any fabrication needed.
