Can I Use a Brake Controller Adapter Plug on my 2006 Ford Ranger FX4

Question:

will I be able to use this adapter on a ford ranger fx4 level 2, 2006 part no.20260

Expert Reply:

You will only find the brake controller ports on the full size trucks. You will have to hard-wire the brake controller in a Ranger. The brake controller will be wired as follows: white - ground, red - brake pedal switch, blue - output to trailer brakes, black - to battery for 12V power with 30amp breaker in-line. You will need to upgrade from a standard 4-Way trailer connector to provide a connection for the trailer brake wire. This is usually done via a 7-Way connector as found in the installation kit, part # ETBC7.
