RoadMaster Even Brake System is Connected to the Towed Vehicle Battery for Power

Question:

1994 Suzuki Sidekick toad how does the Even Brake system handle the power brake problem if the engine is not running?

asked by: Harold

Expert Reply:

The RoadMaster Even Brake System is connected to your Suzuki (towed vehicle) battery for power. The engine does not need to be running for the battery to provide voltage and power to the brakes. (Even Brake consumes battery power in the towed car as you drive. Roadmaster recommends that you start your towed vehicle after towing for more than 6 hours and let it idle 15 to 20 minutes to re-charge the battery.) If the battery voltage drops too low, Even Brake cuts power to the system, while retaining emergency braking power. The Suzuki (towed vehicle) must have power brakes or the Even Brake will exert too much pressure on to the brake pedal and cause the towed vehicle to skid.
