If you see the OC error message on the Draw-Tite Activator II Brake Controller, # 5500, it means that no trailer is connected (or that it thinks no trailer is connected), thus the controller does not recognize a connection to the trailer. If you do have a trailer connected, it is likely that either the brake wire has been broken or is shorting, or the trailer brake magnets need to be replaced.
