I have the class I 1 1/4hitch for my 2009 Honda Fit. Is it possible to use a class II cargo carrier on that hitch if Im never going to carry more than 100 pounds. What could happen if that were done?

Expert Reply:
Even though the Class I and Class II receivers both offer a 1 1/4" receiver the inside of the Class I is shorter. This means Class II accessories will not slide all the way in and the hitch pin holes will not line up preventing you from inserting the pin and clip. You will not be able to use the Class II cargo carrier in the Class I hitch. The good news is that we have Class I cargo carriers. You can view these using the following links:
