Pin Weight Capacity of Convert-A-Ball Cushioned Gooseneck Coupler # CG

Question:

The specs on your product page for the Convert-A-Ball CG cushioned gooseneck coupler says that the max pin weight tongue weight is 2,000 pounds. This sounds low for a gooseneck coupler. Can you verify this number? I am looking for a cushioned gooseneck coupler for my 5th wheel RV. The RV was converted from 5th wheel to gooseneck by my dealer. The manufacturer specs for the RV are ~12,000 pounds total weight, and about 2400 pounds at the pin. Thanks.

I spoke with my contact at Convert-A-Ball about the pin weight capacity of their CG Cushioned Gooseneck Coupler. They list a 30,000 lb weight capacity for the coupler and a 4,000 lbs tongue, or pin weight.

Since your 2400 lb pin weight isn't even 10 percent of the 30K coupler capacity, the coupler should handle it just fine.
