For your Dodge Journey, I would recommend the Circuit Protected Modulite Converter with Install Kit, part # 119176KIT. To install the modulite, you will need to access the rear of the tail light assemblies to gain access to the necessary wiring. You would want to start by grounding the converter box to the vehicle, using the white wire. You can usually find a factory grounding point located behind the tail light assembly on the drivers side. You would then activate the left turn signal, and use the circuit tester included in the kit to probe the wires exiting the taillight assembly until you find one that makes the tester flash along with the turn signal lamp. You would use the quick splice included in the install kit to tap the yellow wire into this circuit. Since the lighting circuits on your Journey already have the directional/brake light signals combined one one circuit for each tail light assembly, you would also ground the red wire to the vehicle. Next, turn on the vehicle headlights. Probe the wires to find the wire showing current, and tap the brown wire into that circuit. The remaining green wire would need to be ran to the rear of the tail light assembly on the passenger side, and you will then need to activate the right turn signal. Once again, use the circuit tester to find the wire that makes the tester blink along with the turn signal. Tap the green wire into this circuit.
The black wire on the converter box would then be extended to the positive battery terminal using the length of wire included in the install kit. The kit also includes a fuse holder which would be used between the end of the wire and the battery terminal.
When running this wire, make sure to keep it away from high heat areas like the exhaust and moving parts such as steering or suspension components.
