Question:
I am getting conflicting methods of how to wire trailer lights etc to a 2009 Nissan Quest. One is to use the adapter and the other is directly to the battery so it wont cause electrical problems. What do you think?

Expert Reply:
Your 2009 Nissan Quest requires a powered converter to protect the vehicles sensitive circuitry form possible overload or shorts. There is a gray power connection in the rear of the vehicle near the taillight connections on the drivers side which will supply power to the trailer taillights. This power wire eliminates the amperage draw on the vehicles taillight system. The best method for installing trailer lighting is to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector - Nissan Quest, item # 118469. This harness comes with everything needed to get your trailer lighting working and detailed instructions. The connectors on this harness install inline with your existing taillight connectors.
