When towing a Tent trailer that is close to the vehicles rated capacity a weight distribution system is a good idea. The weight distribution system will transfer the weight from the trailer tongue to the vehicle and trailer axles making towing easier on the hitch and the vehicle components. You will get a better ride quality and sway will be reduced, especially if a sway control system is used.

There are three systems that I would recommend for you to choose from. These systems are designed for tongue weights between 200 and 600 pounds and a heavier system is not recommended because it will not add performance, but will make for a stiffer ride. I will list them in order from lowest price to highest. If you are planning on upgrading to a larger trailer at any time in the future the Straight-Line system will be the most versatile in the long run.

First, the Reese High Performance Trunnion System 600 lbs TW / 10,000 lbs GTW, item # RP66020, is a good system but does not feature added sway control. This system is upgradeable to high performance sway control, item # RP26002, if desired.

Next, the High Performance Reese SC Weight Distribution System, 600 lbs. TW / 10,000 lbs. GTW, item # RP66151, is a good system and features sway control and clamp on brackets.

Finally, the Reese Strait-Line Hitch 600 lbs TW / 12,000 lbs GTW, item # RP66072, is the best system available at this time. This system includes high performance dual cam sway control and features simple installation and adjustments.
