Wiring Installation on a 2003 Hyundai Sonata

To hard wire your 2003 Hyundai Sonata for a 4-Pole trailer connection, you will need the Upgraded Circuit Protected Taillight Converter Hardwire Kit, item # 119175KIT. Start by accessing the back of the vehicle taillights. You will need to use a circuit tester, item # 3808, to test the connections and splice the correct wires to the harness. You will attach the yellow wire to the left side turn/brake wire and the brown wire to the left side taillight wire and attach the ground to a suitable ground point. Next run the right side wire, green, to the rear of the right side taillight and attach it to the right turn/stop light wire. Finally, test the connections at the 4-Pole connector to be sure it is working properly and your trailer wiring is complete.
