Location of Brake Controller Harness Port on a 2009 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

I have a 2009 Toyota Tacoma w/factory tow package. I have a prodigy 90185 electric trailer brake controller with a connecor harness which is suppose to connect to a port under my dash. I have watched your 2 toyota videos on the Sequoia and the Tundra and I have checked those two locations but I dont see a conncetor anywhere. Do you know where its at? Thanks

It should be under the dash on the left, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. It may be above the plastic panel, or behind it. If it is not there check to see if the tow package was factory installed or dealer installed. We have had several customers come to us with what they were told was a factory tow package, but we find out it was dealer installed and was not set up like it would be from the factory. Instead of having a harness with a connector, it may have a harness of loose wires.
