Options for Towing 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailers with the Same Truck

You have three options for towing both gooseneck and fifth wheel hitches with the same vehicle. The option you are looking at would allow you to tow a gooseneck and you would need a gooseneck to fifth wheel adapter to tow fifth wheel trailers off of the gooseneck ball. We have 2 of these adapters, # CAB-5GX, and # 39062. The fifth-wheel to gooseneck hitch adapters are designed to use but do not offer the optimum towing performance. If you do not tow fifth-wheels often then this option may be for you.

The second option would be to use a Valley Stow-A-Ball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch System, item # V69662, along with a Valley Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Adapter Plate, item # V70880, to attach fifth-wheel rails to the Stow-A-Ball gooseneck hitch. You would also need a Valley H-Plate Fifth Wheel Adapter Bed Support Kit, item # V70780, specific to your pickup to strengthen the bed of your pickup for the adapter plates use.

The third option and by far the best is to use fifth-wheel rails or a Elite Series fifth-wheel installation kit and then use a gooseneck plate in the fifth-wheel rails or Signature Series pucks. This system would give you the best towing performance overall and if the use of the truck bed is desired you can use the Signature Series kit and retain the use of the bed when not towing.
