The blue wire is the brake feed wire for the trailer brakes. When you plug in the adapter, item # 20263 if you need one, the wire is attached to the blue wire on the adapter which is connected to the blue wire on the brake controller. From under the hood the blue wire with the connector that needs to be cut off is ran to the 6-Way or 7-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle and attached to the brake circuit in the connector. If you use the Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, item # ETBC7, or 6-Way kit, # ETBC6, you will attach the blue wire under the hood to the white wire which is then ran to the trailer brake circuit on the 6 or 7-Way connector. You will also have the black wire to run 12 volt power to the connector. If you do not use the kit you can use 10 gauge blue primary wire, item # 10-1-1, to run the blue trailer brake wire under the hood to the trailer connector at the back of the vehicle.
