Front Hitch Recommendation for a 2004 GMC Yukon XL 1500

Question:

I have been looking at front receiver hitches for my 4WD Yukon XL SLT 1/2 ton. It has amber turn signals and 2 tow hooks on the front. It also has an optional Heavy Duty Trailering package. When I search for a hitch I get a 65023 but the instructions do not match what I see under the truck as far as the holes that are in the frame. It appears that I really need the 65028 as it will bolt up to the tow hooks on both sides of the vehicle. This hitch seems to be recommended for 2500s and not the 1500. Can you clear this up and let me know if the 65028 will fit my truck?

Since your vehicle is a 1500 model 2004 GMC Yukon XL you will want the # 31302. This hitch fits all models of the 2004 GMC Yukon.

This hitch offers a no-drill application, but it may require trimming of front air dam and/or fascia for installation.
