Installation InstructionsInstructions for 83660

Question:

Recently installed two 83660 friction anti sway on my Dutchmen 29QS. TV is a 2008 Ford Expedition EL. Was not given any instructions on how to set these up to minimize sway. Can you explain how I would go about setting up and adusting these?

Expert Reply:

To install the Economy Pro Series Friction Sway Control Kit, item # 83660, on the right side, you will need to hook up the vehicle and trailer and pull forward so they are in a straight line with each other. You then mount the sway control ball on the weight distribution head. Next mark a point 24 inches from the center of the hitch ball and mount the ball plate on center with this mark.

To install the the left hand side you will need to follow the same instructions and remove the slide bar from the sway control and install it upside down.

Hookup, adjustment and removal are easy, see instructions. You will need to keep in mind that damage to the sway controll bars can occur when making tight turns. When parking or making sharp turns like in an RV park you will need to remove the sway controls.
