Question:
I was told I need a power wire run from the front of my truck to the rear because it does not have one. Is this true? 1996 chevy p/u

If your 1996 Chevy pickup did not come with a factory 7 way, you will need to run a power wire from the battery back to a 7 way that you will install. However, if your trailer does not need an auxiliary power supply, you can omit running the power wire up to the battery.I assume you will be needing to add a 7 Way plug. If you already have a 4 Way trailer connector, you will simply need part # ETBC7 to complete the installation of a 7 Way. If you do not already have a 4 Way connector you will need part # 118315 as well.
