after connecting the 7 way in bumper, are there any connections to make in under hood

Good question. Since your truck apparently did not come with the factory installed 7-way connector, chances are that the final wiring was not completed under the hood at the power distribution box.
Under the hood, locate the power distribution box which can be found on the drivers side fender well. Remove the cover, and at the front of the box, you will see two studs. To the right of the box, between the box and the fender, you will see a red wire with a ring terminal on the end. This wire provides power to the brake controller, and would attach to the silver stud on the left. To enable the 12 volt accessory circuit on the trailer connector, find the red wire just to the left of the distribution box. This wire is also red, and also has a ring terminal on the end of it. Attach the ring terminal to the black stud on the right. You will also need to add a 40 amp fuse to the fuse block to enable this circuit. Both of these ring terminals will need to be secured with nuts that you will need to supply.
