Wiring # 5500 Draw-Tite Activator II Brake Controller On 2009 Ford F-250 and F-350

If you are hard wiring the Activator II electronic brake controller, item # 5500,on your 2009 Ford Super Duty, then you will need to use a 30 amp circuit breaker, item # PK54530, to wire the black wire on the brake controller to the battery.

If you are using the factory wiring harness you will need to use the Brake Controller Wiring Adapter for Pre-Wired 2008 Ford Super Duty Vehicles, item # 20270, (also works on 2009). Vehicles not equipped with factory trailer tow package, may require fuses and relays to complete output and battery feed circuits. You can find the location of these fuses and relays in the owners manual.
