WHAT IS CAPACITY VERSES WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION CAPACITY?

Weight capacity is how much weight that can be towed when using a standard ball mount for the hitch. Weight distribution capacity is how much weight can be towed when using weight distribution system with the hitch.

I looked up the instructions linked on the product page for Hidden Hitch part # 87585 and the capacities are listed as follows:

Weight Capacity When Using Ball Mount: 350 pounds Tongue Weight, 3,500 pounds Gross Trailer Weight
Weight Capacity Using Weight Distribution: 500 pounds Tongue Weight, 5,000 pounds Gross Trailer Weight
