If you have the Draw-Tite Activator II, item # 5500, brake controller and it was previously installed and working you may have a blown fuse under the hood. I would check here first. If the fuses are not blown then you will need to test the blue wire with a circuit tester, item # 3808 if you need one, and find where the power is being lost. If you do not have power coming out of the brake controller in the cab then you will need to test and make sure that the red wire is still properly connected to the output wire from the brake pedal switch. If there is a problem with the brake controller, there are no user serviceable parts so it will need to be replaced.
If you are hooking up the brake controller for the first time and using the Universal Brake Control Wiring Adapter Ford, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercury, item # 20260, then it sounds like you have a vehicle that does not have the blue wire ran to the trailer connector at the back of the vehicle from the factory. You will have to find the correct wire, under the hood or at the rear near the spare tire (see videos), that is the lead from the connection point for the brake controller, this wire will show power when the brake pedal is pressed. Once you have found this wire you will need to run a 10 gauge wire to the trailer connector at the rear.
