Benefits of Fifth Wheel Hitch with 4 Way Pivoting Head vs. 2 Way Head

Question:

I pull a 37ft. KZ toy hauler about 16k. I want get a knew hitch. Do i need both side to side and front to back movement?. I have a 5th airborne sidewinder pin box.

The answer to your question will depend on what kind of surfaces your tow vehicle will be parked on when you hitch/unhitch the trailer.

If you are going to find yourself pretty consistently on level, even pavement, then a fifth wheel hitch whose head pivots forward and back will work fine for you.

On the other hand, if you will hitch and unhitch on uneven ground on a regular basis, you will thank yourself for going with a hitch that has the 4 way pivoting head, like the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 20,000 lbs, item # RP30081. The pivoting head really does make getting the trailer hitched up much easier.
