I have a 2010 chevy equinox,I hard wired it with 4 wire connector plug. Installed a hidden hitch and 4 raise drawbar, no ground power at 2 ball because of all powder coating had to run extra 6 gauge grund wire from Equinox frame to trailer frame because the 20 guage ground wasn`t enoght ground for lights to work correctly. I used weather tight quick diconnects. I know their working on a t-one connector kit,but if you hard wire it it could work this way unless there`s a better solution , instead of grinding off some powder coating to use the ball as a ground instead.
Thank for your time maybe you have better solution.

Usually, connecting the ground from the vehicle side of the connector to the chassis of the vehicle and the ground on the trailer side to the trailer frame is sufficient unless the trailer has many, many lights on it. Depending on the trailer ball to provide the ground connection is not a good practice as the ball can move around in the coupler, causing intermittent lighting problems. If you were experiencing ground problems using just the 4-way connector, check your grounding points on both the vehicle and trailer side of the connection. Make sure they are tight and made to clean metal.
