Expert Reply:

The instructions for the Reese Universal Fifth Wheel Install Kit place the back edge of the rear most bed mounted rail at 29-1/4 inches forward of the rear edge of the bed for a 2002 Ford F-250 with a GVW of 8500 pounds or less. If the truck has a GVW over 8500 pounds, the back edge of the rear most bed mounted rail would be 32-1/2 inches from the rear edge of the bed.

I would recommend checking the model number and manufacturer on the fifth-wheel rails and brackets you have, as these measurements may vary. The correct measurements for your application should be listed in the installation instructions for the kit.

I am including a video showing the # RP30035 Reese universal fifth-wheel rail kit being installed on another 2002 F-250, as well as a link to the installation instructions.
