Question:
I bought a M21 Edge ultra light weight trailer from Heartland, Gross vehicle weight 4300. When I went to the order page it showed 1400 TW, Im assuming 700 TW would suffice. Does this hitch cover from 700 to 1400? What do you suggest.

The Pro Series SC Weight Distribution System, part # 49579 can handle trailers with tongue weights ranging from 600 to 1100 pounds. You will want to choose a systems whose tongue weight capacity is equal to or greater than the tongue weight of your trailer as you have it loaded. If the trailer indeed has a tongue weight of 1400 lbs, the part # 49579 would be insufficient. If this is the case, we offer the Pro Series SC in a version that has a 1500 pound tongue weight capacity that might be a better alternative. The part # 66157 is most effective on trailers whose tongue weight ranges from 800 to 1500 pounds. Generally speaking, a trailers tongue weight represents 10 to 15 percent of the trailer weight. If the trailer weighs 4300 pounds, the tongue weight would be in the range of 430 to 645 pounds, in which case the 49579 would be perfect for you. You might want to independently determine that tongue weight to find which system would be a better fit for your application.
