Will the sidwinder hitch work in A half ton 1500GMC pickup . With A short bed which is 5feet 8 inches long. Waiting for your response.

The Sidewinder should work fine with your GMC Half Ton Pickup, but you will have to make some measurements to determine if you will have enough clearance between the truck and trailer to negotiate 90 degree turns without the trailer hitting the rear of your cab.
Use the formula below to ensure there will be enough space between your truck cab and trailer when executing a 90-degree turn.
(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from center of fifth wheel hitch jaw to truck cab
B = Length of Sidewinder arm (16K = 22 inch, 19K = 22 inch, 19.5K = 22 inch)
C = Width of trailer divided by 2 (to get half)
If you end up with a positive number, you will have clearance between the truck cab and the front of the trailer.
