Question:
Hi I was about to purchase the sportrack 2 bike wheel mounting hitch from your website Phenomenal by the way! It really helps to have your videos, but I have a 2004 4 dr. Honda Accord which can only accept a 1.25 class 1 receiver hitch. My question however is even though it says that I can only use a class 2 reciever hitch with the 1.25 mount, why do other bike racks such as the thule or swagman models say that their 1.25 racks are fine with class 1 hitches? Would I be able to get away with the class 1 hitch on my Accord with the sportrack 2 bike hitch with my light under 25 pound mountain bikes? Thanks for your help.

The SportRack 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Rack, part # A30901 is not recommended for use on a Class I receiver due to the manufacturers recommendation. SportRack makes this recommendation to prevent possible damage to the vehicle or hitch. According to Thule, the Thule Double Track, part # TH990XT is compatible with a Class I receiver, Swagman says that the XTC-2, part # S64670 can be used with a Class I.
